Which car for Kamala and Surin
For two people staying near the beach, a Toyota Yaris Ativ is enough and parks easily on Kamala Beach Road. Many villas are up on the hills above Kamala and around Surin, with short but steep driveways; for those, and for families, the 7-seat Toyota Fortuner is the calmer choice.
Driving around Kamala and Surin
- The coast road between Kamala and Patong climbs over a headland with viewpoints; allow about 20 minutes to Patong.
- Between Kamala and Surin the road passes the Laem Singh viewpoint. Parking there is a narrow roadside strip, so stop only where there is room.
- Surin to Bang Tao and Laguna is 10 minutes; the airport is 35–40 minutes via Cherng Talay and Thepkasattri Road.
- Evening traffic builds on the hill road into Patong between 17:00 and 20:00.
Delivery and return
Send the name of your hotel or the villa pin. We hand the car over at the door and collect it there at the end, also for ฿300. If you fly in, you can take the car free at the airport and drive to Kamala yourself.
