Which car for Patong
Parking in central Patong, around Bangla Road and Beach Road, is tight, so a compact sedan such as the Toyota Yaris Ativ is the easiest choice. It fits in hotel car parks and the paid parking lots near the beach, and has room for two large suitcases.
Driving in and out of Patong
- The road over Patong Hill to Kathu and Phuket Town is steep and winding. Going down, use a low gear instead of holding the brake.
- Evenings between 17:00 and 20:00 are the busiest time on the hill and along the beach road.
- Motorbikes pass on both sides; check the mirrors before turning or opening a door.
- Karon and Kata are 15–20 minutes south along the coast road; Kamala and Surin are 20 minutes north.
Delivery and return in Patong
Send the name of your hotel. We meet you in the lobby at the agreed time and collect the car there at the end, also for ฿500. If you arrive by plane, you can take the car free at the airport instead and drive to Patong yourself.
