Car rental terms
Everything that goes into the rental contract, in plain words. If something is not covered here, ask Ben on WhatsApp before you book.
Who can rent
- Drivers aged 21 or over with a licence held for at least one year.
- Foreign drivers: national driving licence plus an International Driving Permit (IDP). Thai licence holders need only the Thai licence.
- Passport or Thai ID card. We check it and take a photo; we never keep the original.
- A second driver is free if they are added to the contract before they drive.
Prices and payment
- Three rates for every car: 1–6 days, 7–29 days (weekly rate for every day) and 30 days or more (fixed monthly price).
- From 20 Dec to 10 Jan prices are 15% higher.
- One rental day is 24 hours from the handover time.
- You pay when you receive the car, in cash or by Thai bank transfer. No prepayment for most dates.
Deposit
- ฿3,000 in cash for sedans, ฿5,000 for the Toyota Fortuner.
- Returned in full at the end of the rental if the car comes back without new damage.
- No card hold and no passport left with us.
Handover and return
- We photograph every panel, the fuel level and the odometer with you at pickup and again at return; both sets go to your WhatsApp.
- Return the car at the agreed time and place. Up to 1 hour late is free; tell us early if you need longer and we extend the rental if the car is free.
- Returning early is possible; the price is recalculated for the actual number of days.
Fuel and mileage
- Full to full: you get a full tank and return a full tank.
- Sedans use Gasohol 91 or 95 petrol, the Toyota Fortuner uses diesel.
- Unlimited mileage anywhere in Thailand. Taking the car on a ferry is allowed after you tell us. The car must not leave Thailand.
Insurance and damage
- First-class Thai insurance is included. Excess ฿15,000 per incident.
- Not covered: driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, a driver who is not in the contract or has no valid licence, driving on beaches or off-road, lost keys, tyres and interior damage.
- Traffic and parking fines during the rental are paid by the renter.
In the car
- No smoking inside the car.
- Normal cleaning is included; the car does not need to be washed before return.
- Child seats ฿100 per day, fitted before the handover.
