Monthly car rental in Phuket

From 30 days you pay a fixed monthly price instead of a daily rate — for our cars that is ฿18,000–38,000 a month, and the insurance, servicing and unlimited mileage are included. For anyone staying in Phuket for a season, a monthly rental costs less than a month of taxis and far less than buying a car and selling it again.

What the monthly price includes

First-class Thai insurance with a ฿15,000 excess.

What you pay on top

Fuel. A Yaris Ativ uses about 5.5 L per 100 km; normal driving around the island is a few tanks a month.
A cash deposit of ฿3,000 (฿5,000 for the Fortuner), returned at the end.
Delivery, once, if you are outside the free area: ฿300–700 depending on the district.
Traffic and parking fines, if any.

Which car for a long stay

The previous-generation Toyota Yaris Ativ has the lowest monthly price and is the most common choice for one or two people living in Rawai, Chalong or Bang Tao. The new Ativ and the MG5 are worth the difference if you drive a lot or want a newer car. Families with children and anyone living up a steep hill road usually take the Fortuner.

Keeping the car for several months

You can keep the same car month after month. Tell us about a week before the month ends, pay the next month and carry on. If you leave Phuket for a few days, the car can stay with you or come back to us — whichever is cheaper for you.

Documents for a long stay

The rules are the same as for a short rental: national licence plus an International Driving Permit, or a Thai licence. If you are on a long-stay visa, getting a Thai licence is worth it: it takes a day at the Phuket Land Transport Office and replaces both documents.
