Renting a car in Phuket in high season

The high season in Phuket runs from about December to February, with the peak between Christmas and early January. Cars sell out first for those dates: if you are coming between 20 December and 10 January, book two to four weeks ahead. Our prices in that period are 15% higher; the rest of the high season is at the normal rate.

When to book

20 December – 10 January: two to four weeks ahead; the 7-seat Fortuner goes first.
Chinese New Year (late January or February): one to two weeks ahead.
The rest of December to March: a few days ahead is usually enough.
Monthly rentals for the season: as early as you know your dates, so we can keep the same car for you.

Prices in the high season

From 20 December to 10 January our prices are 15% higher; outside those dates the normal rates apply, including the weekly price from 7 days and the monthly price from 30 days. Delivery fees and the deposit do not change with the season.

Roads and parking in the peak weeks

Patong Hill and the roads around Chalong circle are slow in the evenings — allow extra time.
Beach car parks at Kata, Karon and Nai Harn fill by late morning; arrive early or go later in the afternoon.
Promthep Cape is full before sunset; come by 17:00.
On New Year’s Eve many roads near the beaches are closed or jammed; plan to park early and walk.

Airport pickups on peak days

The airport is at its busiest at the end of December. Send your flight number when you book: we track the landing time and wait in the arrivals hall, so a delayed or early flight does not cost you anything. Allow about 15 minutes for the hand-over, even on busy days.
