Phuket Airport to your hotel: taxi or rental car

Your options at arrivals

• Airport taxi and limousine counters inside the arrivals hall: fixed prices by area, you pay before you leave the building.
• Metered taxis from the rank outside: the meter plus an airport surcharge.
• Grab and Bolt: book in the app after landing; the pickup point is signposted outside the terminal.
• Airport bus and minibuses: the cheapest, but slow and they stop far from most hotels.
• A rental car handed over in the arrivals hall.

What the transfer costs

Prices change with the season and the time of night, so check the Grab app when you land. As a rough guide, a private transfer to Bang Tao or Laguna is several hundred baht, and to Patong, Kata, Karon or Rawai it is roughly ฿800–1,200 each way — two transfers can cost ฿2,000 or more.

Our cars start at ฿1,000 per day, and meeting you at the airport is free at any hour. For two people staying five days, the two transfers alone cost about as much as two days of rental.

How the airport hand-over works

• Send the flight number on WhatsApp when you book.
• We track the landing time; a delay costs you nothing.
• We wait in the arrivals hall of your terminal with a sign with your name.
• The car is in the airport car park a few minutes away. Documents and photos take about 15 minutes, and then you drive to the hotel.
• On the last day we meet you at the terminal again, take the car and give back the deposit.

When a taxi is the better choice

If you land after a long-haul flight and do not want to drive on the left in the dark, take a taxi to the hotel and have the car delivered there the next morning — delivery to Bang Tao is ฿300, to Patong ฿500. If you are staying in one resort and not planning to leave it, a car is not worth it at all.

Driving times from the airport

• Nai Yang and Mai Khao: 10 minutes.
• Bang Tao and Laguna: about 25 minutes.
• Phuket Town: about 40 minutes.
• Patong: 50–60 minutes over Patong Hill.
• Kata, Karon, Chalong and Rawai: 60–75 minutes.
